Why Fall Protection ?

Falls from height are one the leading causes of serious injury and death at work. Analysis of all industrial accidents usally highlights inappropriate working conditions as a principal factor. In the case of work at height the consequences are immediate and serious, resulting in major disability or death. Approximately one in seven work place fatalities are due to a fall from height.
What Constitutes a Fall ?
- Any person working on unprotected/unguarded roof edges has a potential fall hazard.
- Any person climbing a ladder or on scaffolds or aerial work platforms has a fall hazard.
- Falls can happen even at 1m and above.
- Falls usually happen due to overconfidence.
- Most Falls happen between at low heights .
- According to OSHA, fall hazards are present at 4 feet (1.2m) in general industry. This includes all non-construction applications.
- According to OSHA, fall hazard are present at 6 feet (1.8m) in construction. Construction refers to the actual erection, assembly and finishing of building.
